A hint on the project's background
It was observed that some guests, of a tourist village at Safaga on the Red Sea , suffering from RHEUMATOID, RHEUMATISM, and PSORIASIS, were healed during their short stay at the resort. Immediately an action was taken to study this phenomena on scientific basis. The Minister of Scientific Research was informed, who delegated the National Research Center (NRC) to study this extraordinary phenomena.
The NRC prepared a team of work of selective doctors and specialists in Rheumatoid and Psoriasis. The study was named "Field and Clinical Survey of climatic effects of Safaga on skin deseases and Arthropathy".
It was accomplished through different steps:
The affection rate of Rheumatoid is only 0.014% compared with the international rate which reaches 1%, i.e. Rheumatoid rarely exists in this area
The affection rate of Psoriasis is only 0.008% compared with the international rate which varies between ( 1 to 3 ) %.
Two groups suffering from Rheumatoid and Psoriasis were selected and sent to Safaga in successive subgroups after evaluating their cases, to spend four healing weeks under medical supervision to be cured there.
The NRC in cooperation with U.S. AID & foreign doctors, held an international press conference on the 22 nd of June 1995 . In this conference, doctors released the final results of two full years of hard work.
The main results of the International press conference were:
CHRONIC RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS ( 109 CASES )
The results show enormous clinical improvement in 84% of the cases. 14% were completely cured in four weeks, and following up led to continuous improvement in 64% of the cases.
The Rheumatoid coefficient decreased in 36% of the cases. After 6 months the blood sedimentation rate decreased in 57% of the cases.
PSORIASIS ( 80 CASES )
After four weeks of curing, the final results show an excellent improvement in 90% of the cases. These results are considered as a huge achievement, hardly obtained when using drugs, not to mention the dangerous side effects drugs cause to the human body.
